Speculative net long positions in WTI crude oil futures increased by 17,227 lots to 269,446 lots. Speculators increased their net short position in U.S. Treasuries by 8,420 lots to 201,107 lots.

Precious metals: As of the week of September 19, the speculative net long position of COMEX silver futures increased by 1,173 lots to 2,356 lots; the speculative net long position of COMEX gold futures increased by 16,843 lots to 66,639 lots.
