Brazilian stock markets closed lower; Brazil's IBOVESPA stock index fell 0.12% at the close

Investing.com – Brazil equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the , and sectors propelled shares lower.

The best performers of the session were Brazil Foods (BVMF:), which rose 3.21% or 0.30 points to trade at 9.66 at the close. Meanwhile, Atacadao SA (BVMF:) added 2.81% (0.25 points) to end at 9.15; RAIADROGASIL ON NM (BVMF:) added 2.12% (0.57 points) to end at 27.43 in late trade.

The weakest performing stock on the market was MAGAZ LUIZA ON NM (BVMF:), which fell 4.68% (0.11 points) to close at 2.24. Grupo Vamos SA (BVMF:) declined 3.96% or 0.40 points to end at 9.70 and Gol Linhas Aereas Inteligentes SA Pref (BVMF:) was down 3.89% or 0.26 points to 6.43. On the Sao Paulo Stock Exchange in Brazil, 536 stocks fell, which exceeded the number of stocks that closed higher - 354. At the same time, 61 stocks did not rise or fall, which was basically the same.

Implied volatility of Brazilian IBOVESPA stock index options, which is used to measure it, fell 0.79% to 28.96.

The price of the gold futures December options contract rose 0.26% (4.95 points) to $1,944.55. For the rest of the futures, the price of the WTI crude oil futures contract for November delivery increased by 0.79% (0.71 points), quoted at US$90.34, while the December US C-type coffee futures contract fell by 2.98% (4.62), trading at US$150.23.

USD/BRL did not rise or fall by 0.01%, with an exchange rate of 4.93; at the same time, EUR/BRL fell by 0.21%, with a quotation of 5.25.

U.S. dollar index futures rose 0.24% to 105.29.
