UK stocks higher; Investing.com UK 100 up 0.05% at close of trade

Investing.com – U.K. equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors propelled shares higher.

At the close in London, it was up 0.05%.

The best performers of the session were Ocado Group PLC (LON:), which rose 6.70% or 43.40 points to trade at 691.20 at the close. Meanwhile, BHP Group PLC (LON:) added 2.50% (57.00 points) to end at 2,334.00; Rightmove PLC (LON:) added 2.38% (13.20 points) to 567.60 in late trade.

The weakest performing stock on the market was Halma PLC (LON:), which fell 3.75% (76.00 points) to close at 1,949.00. British Centrica Group (LON:) fell 2.78% (4.80 points) to end at 167.65; Tui AG (LON:) fell 2.23% (11.00 points) to 482.20. On the London Stock Exchange, 997 stocks fell, which exceeded the number of stocks that closed higher - 653. At the same time, 486 stocks did not rise or fall, which was basically the same.

PLC (LON:) shares fell to one year lows, losing 3.75% or 76.00 points to 1,949.00.

The price of gold futures December options contract rose 0.32% (6.15 points) to $1,945.75. For the rest of the futures, the price of WTI crude oil futures contract for November delivery rose 0.44% (0.39 points), quoted at $90.02, while the November London Brent crude oil futures contract rose 0.10% (0.09), trading at $93.39.

GBP/USD did not rise or fall by 0.31%, with an exchange rate of 1.23; at the same time, EUR/GBP was basically unchanged at 0.32%, with a quote of 0.87.

U.S. dollar index futures rose 0.11% to 105.16.
