Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf, director of the department, said the department has collaborated with the Securities Commission of Malaysia (SC) to combat such crimes as the number of cases recorded has increased.
SC has developed a platform called "investment checker", which can be accessed through the website https://www.sc.com.my/investment-checker, to help the public check the investment plans on offer.
He said both agencies agreed to remain committed to fighting fraud by sharing information, expertise, investigations and operations, adding that he believed the partnership could help promote effective investment programs and curb investment fraud in the country.
